Authorities announced Tuesday that Willie Spence died in a car crash in East Tennessee’s Marion County.
In October 2022, Spence’s Jeep Cherokee 2019 collided with an parked tractor trailer on the east side Interstate 24. The accident also involved the tractor-trailer’s driver, aged 68 and wearing a seatbelt.
Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident, but early reports suggest that Spence’s vehicle went off the road. Spence was confirmed dead by the Marion County Medical Examiner due to the multisystem injuries caused by the accident. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
