House of the Dragon debuted on HBO on 21 August 2022. The last episode of the show aired 9 October 2022. The episode 8 deals with the inevitable end of King Viserys 1 Targaryen.

What happened to King Viserys face?
You may have seen King Viserys slowly losing his organs due to an unknown illness.
Viserys has reportedly been diagnosed with a leprosy-like condition. His disease worsened as the series progressed. His bones began deteriorating.
Eventually, he loses his strength and is unable to heal minor cuts caused by the Iron Throne’s edges. The disease slowly eats at his fingers and arms. The leprosy has also affected his face. In his most recent episode, there was a rotting wound on his side that exposed his insides.
Viserys, after his face became severely infected wore bandages in bed while he slept and a mask of gold when he appeared in court. The King’s right side was missing, his right eye was lost, and he had a ruined cheek.King Viserys was afflicted with leprosy and lost an eye. His cheek also rotted.
The King needed a constant supply to make it through each day. Poppy flower is used to make poppy milk, which is an opiate. When consumed in large quantities, it can have powerful sedative properties.
How did King Viserys die in House of the Dragon?
The rumor was that Viserys I would die in a feverish sleep. The manner of his death has been changed significantly. According to a reversal of the story, Viserys slept peacefully in the Red Keep before dying.
The Iron Throne was the main source of conflict for House of the Dragon from the beginning. Veserys wanted to take the throne, even though Rhaenyra had been the first Targaryen Queen. Alicenet Hightower, on the other hand has already given birth Viserys’s child.

Last Words Of King Viserys
King Viserys gets his poppy-milk again. This seems to cause hallucinations. He is reminded of his wife, Alicent when his daughter Rhaenyra says that she must bear the burden of the Song of Ice and Fire Dream.The last words of King Visery were “My Love”, which was a reference to his first spouse.
Viserys is officially dead when he says “My love” and the House of the Dragon episode eight fades to black. The King said “My love,” referring to Rhaenyra Arryn’s mother. Aemma Arryn was still loved by King even after she died in House of the Dragon Episode 1.
Viserys intended his last words to show that he had finally died, and his reunion with first wife. Alicent, however, appears to think that King’s last words are different. Alicent was given permission to usurp a throne by mistake when the last words were said.
