This article will discuss the Fairfax shooting Brandon Lemange. Local government officials have decided to release body camera footage of a recent incident where two officers fatally shot another after a violent attack inside their patrol car. The Chief said that the video captured a “highly intensive situation” and the Fairfax County Police revealed the names for the officers involved, Officers Christopher Grubb & Kenyatta Mumon. Brandon Lemagne (38), a resident of Newport News in Virginia, allegedly drove a stolen UHaul truck through the Fairfax County suburb of Alexandria.
What happened to Brandon Lemagne
The police were alerted by a license plate reader who reported the truck at 4 pm on the day the incident occurred. Lemagne stopped the U-Haul at the 6300-block of Richmond Highway and got out. A police officer walked up to Lemagne at that time, after getting out of his SUV. On the basis of video evidence, Lemagne can be seen pushing the officer into the driver’s seat by opening the driver’s side door. On video, the legs of the police officer can be seen hanging out the window and occasionally touching the floor.
In the body-camera footage, Lemagne is seen pressing his foot against the SUV’s pedal while the officer remains pressed to the driver’s side. When he hears the horn honking, the officer is alarmed and declares that “He’s trying to grab my pistol.” He’s aiming at my gun. Lemagne responds immediately by pleading “Sir just step back.” Lemagne is asked to drop his grip on a rifle again. The body-camera footage shows Cop Christopher Grubb (an experienced cop with 8 years of service) arriving at the petrol pump at approximately 4:07 pm and spotting an SUV that had crashed. Grubb is heard firing 18 bullets within nine seconds from the McDonald’s entrance, across the street. Brandon Lemagne was killed in Officer Christopher Grubb’s shooting incident.
Nechelle Lemagne is Brandon Lemagne’s sister. She expressed concerns about the way the police handled the incident, especially in regards to the rounds fired after her brother had been taken out of the vehicle. In an interview with WJLA, she revealed that in different reports her brother was shot three times in his face. Nechelle Lemagne was not able to respond immediately.
