Vincent Grant Gill is an American singer, songwriter and musician who was born on April 12th, 1957. In the 1970s he became popular as the lead singer of the country-rock band Pure Prairie League, and then as a soloist in 1983. He is highly sought after as a duet partner and guest singer because of his exceptional vocal and musical skills.
More than 40 singles and 20 studio albums have been released in the U.S. Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart shows that Gill has sold more than 26 million albums. He has received numerous awards, including 18 CMA Awards, of which two were for Entertainers of the Year, and five for Male vocalist.

Due to kidney stones, he was unable attend the 52nd CMA Awards and had to cancel several performances at the end of 2018. In an Instagram post, his daughter Jenny revealed that he also had a kidney infection and doctors were preparing for surgery.
It was due to this that several performances were postponed, including his performance at the CMA Awards. Vince also underwent open heart surgery in order to correct a congenital anomaly that prevented blood from flowing from his lungs into his heart. The surgery was completed by 2020.
