Otis Redding II, the youngest son of the soul icon Otis Redding who made his own mark in the music business, died at age 59 after a battle with cancer in Macon. Karla Redding Andrews, his sister, released a statement Wednesday announcing the death of her brother. She asked for privacy as their family coped with this loss.

Otis Redding III is the son of legendary 1960s soul musician Otis Redding. Otis Redding III formed The Reddings with his brother Dexter, who played bass and sang, Mark Lockett, who played drums and keys, as well as Mark Lockett, on lead vocals and keyboards. Otis Redding III was responsible for the creation, production, and performance of The Reddings’ music.
