Who was Jordan Janway?
Jordan Janway, Jimmie Johnson’s sister-in-law, died on March 30, 2014 in San Diego, California. He was born in Muskogee on December 2, 1985, to Lynn Norriss and Jack Janway. Jordan Janway attended Northeastern State University after completing his high school education. He then moved to Chicago for basic training. After this, he relocated to San Diego where he served in the U.S. Naval Special Warfare between 2007 and 2008.
He discovered skydiving during this time and became devoted to it. Jordan was a master parachute instructor and free-fall rigger for Tactical Air Operations. He has also worked as a tandem instructor, coach and camera operator for Skydive San Diego.
He was affectionately called “Jordo”, by his friends. Wingsuit base jumping ignited his passion for flight. He went on thrilling adventures around the world, jumping off mountaintops. His favorite destination was Switzerland.

He also leaves behind his nieces Genevieve Johnson and Lydia Johnson, as well as Seth Robison, Dalton Janway and Marianne Janway Robinson.
Jordan Janway’s remarkable life will be celebrated at a memorial service on Thursday, 10 April 2014, starting at 5:00pm. The memorial service will take place at the Butterfly House and Gardens in the beautiful Honor Heights Park of Muskogee. The service will be presided over by Reverend Cindy Culver, who will provide solace and support for those attending.
