Jarrett acknowledged that he did not consider skin cancer when he was growing up in rural North Carolina. However, he also shared that it was a part of his family history. In 1983, seven members of his family, including his dad, died within six months.
Jarrett wanted to spread awareness of cancer treatment by sharing his story. Jarrett’s commitment to the cause was evident from his participation in a charity tournament held in his home state over the past 25 years.
