Who is Jeremy Lin?
Jeremy Shu How Lin is a professional American-Taiwanese basketball player who currently plays for the Kaohsiung 17LIVE Steelers in the P. League+. Lin led the New York Knicks to a shocking winning streak in the National Basketball Association during the 2011-12 season. This created a cultural phenomena known as Linsanity.
Lin was one of only a few Asian Americans who played in the NBA. He became the first Asian American NBA champion in 2019 with the Toronto Raptors.
Lin, who was born in San Francisco Bay Area and grew up there, won Northern California Basketball player of the year in his last year of highschool. He did not receive any offers of athletic scholarships and enrolled instead at Harvard University. He earned three Ivy League all-conference awards while at Harvard. Lin was not drafted after graduating, but his hometown Golden State Warriors signed him in 2010.

Jeremy Lin announced in December 2022 that he would be leaving the Chinese Basketball Association. He will also end his season with the Guangzhou Loong Lions early. Lin has decided to return to America, but he still hasn’t determined what he will do in the future. Lin announced his decision to leave the CBA in an Instagram post.
In expressing his gratitude, he expressed his thanks to the CBA, Guangzhou and his coaches, team-mates, and fans. He also acknowledged the difficulties he had experienced due to not being able play basketball in front his supporters over the past three years. He promised to update his fans once he had made a final decision. Lin averaged seven points and 2 assists per game in Guangzhou’s 8-12 record this season. Lin, 34, played his last game for the Long Lions in December.
Why did Jeremy Lin leave the NBA?
Lin is still uneasy with the way the situation unfolded, and he believes race was a factor in his exclusion. Lin was a free agent after the season ended, but he wasn’t offered a contract. Lin expressed, in tears, his feeling that the NBA abandoned him at an event in Taiwan held that summer.
Lin scored 28 points in his debut as a starter for the Knicks on February 6, 2012. He played against the Utah Jazz. In the 2011-12 season he averaged 15 points per game and 6 assists. He played 35 games and started 25 of them. He played all of his games in February and early March due to a knee injury which prevented him from participating in the Knicks’ postseason.
What is Jeremy Lin doing now?
Lin, in an attempt to return to the NBA by 2021, played for the Warriors’ development squad. He returned to the Chinese Basketball Association, playing for the Ducks before moving on to the Guangzhou Loong Lions. Lin left the Loong Lions at the end of 2022-23 and joined the Kaohsiung 17LIVE steelers of the P. League+ in 2023.
Lin played basketball for the Guangzhou Loong Lions in 2022. On December 2, 2022, Lin was fined by the CBA $1400 for making “inappropriate comments about quarantine hotels-related facilities”. This occurred during the COVID-19 protests. On December 29, Lin announced that he was leaving the team for the remainder of the season. Lin played in seven Guangzhou games, with an average of 11.6 minutes, 6.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.3 points per game.

Jeremy Lin Age
Jeremy Lin was a born in Torrance, California, on August 23, 1989. Jeremy Lin has 34 years of age. He was raised in Palo Alto in California in a Christian home. In the mid-1970s, his parents, Gieming Lin and Shirley Lin emigrated to the United States from Taiwan. They first settled in Virginia, before moving to Indiana to attend universities and study computer science and engineering. Gie-ming Lin and Shirley Lin have dual citizenships from Taiwan and the United States.
Lin’s parents both stand at 5’6″ (1.68m), while the family of his maternal grandmother was taller, as her father stood over 6’0″ (1.83m). Lin has two brothers: an older named Josh, and a younger named Joseph.
Lin’s father taught his son and brothers to play basketball in the local YMCA. His mother, who also played basketball, helped create a National Junior Basketball program at Palo Alto. Shirley worked with coaches and ensured that Lin’s basketball activities did not interfere in his academic pursuits.
