He will replace Dan McLaughlin who, after 24 years as the Cardinals’ lead TV voice, left the position due to a DWI charge and subsequent felony. Caray will join analysts Jim Edmonds and Brad Thompson, with Thompson assuming the role of lead analyst for most 2023 broadcasts. Jim Hayes will be back in his sideline reporting role for the broadcasts.

Caray, in addition to his role as the Braves’ broadcaster, is also well-known for his years as the TV play-by-play announcement for the Chicago Cubs between 1998 and 2004. He is the grandson and son of Harry Caray, a legendary broadcaster.
Caray graduated from Parkway West High School, Chesterfield, Missouri in 1987, with a journalism degree. Caray worked for local TV stations in Greensboro and Panama City, North Carolina, before joining Fox. Caray was the NBA Orlando Magic’s play-by-play broadcaster from 1989 to 1998.
Caray worked as a radio broadcaster from 1993 to 1995 for the Seattle Mariners in the American League. He was given a chance to try out for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1994. The team expected him to sign after the season. Caray, however, chose to stay with the Mariners. Caray was also part of the broadcasting crew for the 1996 premiere of Major League Baseball on Fox.
