Mildred Elizabeth Voigt-Jolley, aged 92, beloved wife of Clayton Jolley, peacefully departed from this life on the 7th of August 2023 at her home with her loving family.
Originating in Columbia, SC, Mildred was the daughter of Theodore M. and Elizabeth Irby Voigt. Mildred had took up Aiken for her residence from 1955. After a successful career she retired from the position of social worker in The SC Department of Social Services Aiken office. A committed and active citizen, Mildred was a dedicated church member. South Aiken Presbyterian Church.
She was an Elder and was a respected participant in the choir. Her work was extended to the extent that she served as the past president of The Women of the Church and was recognized as a Woman of the Year. In pursuing her love of music, Mildred actively participated as an Aiken Choral Society board member. Aiken Choral Society and was affiliated in The Aiken Choraliers and the USCA Concert Choir. She was also an active participant in the Town and Country Club.
Surviving her are four children: Lisa McCullough, Paul Jolley, Peter Jolley (Linda) as well as Jonathan Jolley (Sarah). She also left 12 grandchildren: Luke Jolley (LeAnne), Matthew Jolley (Courtney), Anne McCullough, Erin McCullough, Ben McCullough (Katie), Rebekah Jolley, Abigail Jolley, Elizabeth Egerton (Thomas), Deanna Jolley, Robert Jolley, Owen Jolley as well as Paige Jolley. Alongside these, she cherished great-grandchildren: Ethan Jolley, Allen Galloway, Mya Jolley, Ben Sigler, Emma Goodman, Lily Jolley, Dean McCullough, and even great-great-grandchildren Gabriel and Estella Sigler.
The family will greet guests on the 10th of August on a Thursday afternoon which will begin around 3 o’clock in the South Aiken Presbyterian Church. Following the gathering funeral services will begin at 4 o’clock. It will be conducted by the Rev. Jason Hammersley. Mildred’s last resting place will be in Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, GA and the burial scheduled for Friday, August 11th at 2 hours. In this sad time we pay tribute to and remember Mildred’s distinguished life and extend our condolences for her loved ones and family members.

She was the former presidant of the Women of the Church, and was once a Woman of the Year. Her dedication to the arts was evident through her participation as a member of The Aiken Choral Society, Aiken Choraliers and The USCA Concert Choir. As a participant in the Town and Country Club, she made a footprints on the various aspects in her local community.
The last to carry on her legacy the children who grieve her loss: Lisa McCullough, Paul Jolley, Peter Jolley (Linda) as well as Jonathan Jolley (Sarah). Mildred who was raised from Columbia, SC, was an adoring daughter of former Theodore M. and Elizabeth Irby Voigt. Her roots are firmly set in Aiken from 1955, and she lived an entire life of meaningful contributions. Her experience as a social worker who retired at Aiken’s SC Department of Social Services Aiken office demonstrated her dedication to assist people in times of necessity.
She was a revered and respected member of the South Aiken Presbyterian Church, which she helped to enrich her community by serving as an elder and a faithful participant in the choir. Her leadership was extended to being the former President of the Women of the Church and being awarded the prestigious title of Woman of the Year.
