After the family of Jerry Springer announced that he had died on Thursday following a “brief sickness,” it was confirmed that cancer caused his death.
Linda Shafran confirmed his death from pancreatic carcinoma. Rabbi Sandford Kopnick is a religious leader and long-time friend of Springer at The Valley Temple, Cincinnati. He said that Springer’s illness came on suddenly and that he hadn’t been sick for a considerable period.
The 79-year old TV host died only a few days after being diagnosed as cancer. Rabbi Kopnick visited Springer just last week, before his death.

According to a family statement, Jerry Springer has died at age 79. He was the legendary talk show host, former mayor of Cincinnati and the creator of the “Jerry Springer Show”. Springer, a family spokesperson said, died peacefully at his suburban Chicago house on Thursday after battling cancer.
Springer became famous as the host of a talk show with his own name. The show was known for its dramatic dramas and chair-throwing, but it was also criticized because of its controversial content. The show ran for 27 years, and had over 4,000 episodes. Its final episode was in 2018.
Springer’s work as a television anchor was not his only contribution to the world. He also had a distinguished political career, and he served for many years as WLWT’s news anchor in the 1980s.
