The missing incident:
Gary Levin (a Lyft driver at 74 years old and a Palm Beach Gardens resident) went missing on Monday, 30th January 2023. He provided a ride for an unidentified passenger and dropped him off at the destination in Okeechobee County. Levin was to meet his girlfriend for dinner Monday.
After dropping off the passenger, his cell phone was turned off. He then vanished. His last known location was Okeechobee County, according to the Lyft app. Further pings to his smartphone showed Levin, the Lyft driver missing in Florida, two miles from Okechobee County. Human remains were discovered on Saturday, February 4th-2023.
Matthew Scott Flores is being questioned by the police:
Scott is charged with the murder of Jose Carlos Martinez in Hardee County, 24-January2023. Scott was able to flee the police with the assistance of Stephanie Velgara. Scott was subject to an arrest warrant by the police.
Scott was seen driving the 2022 Kia Stinger car that belonged to Levin on Thursday night. This is significant evidence about how Scott obtained the car and what he did before fleeing.
Scott was chased by police near North Carolina while trying to flee in a Florida Missing Lyft driver car. He was taken to a local hospital after being found impaired by intoxicating substances.
Scott appeared before Judge Michelle McEntire at the Rutherford County Court on Friday, January 3, 2023. Scott was charged with speeding, intoxicated driving and eluding police, discharging firearms in public, possessing firearms by felons, second-degree murder, and evading law enforcement.
