Chris Paul Injury Update

Chris Paul was forced to leave Game 2 of the Phoenix Suns-Denver Nuggets Series at 4:32 in the third quarter after suffering an injury to his left hip while battling for a rebound with Kentavious Cadwell Pope.

Despite his efforts the “Point God”, only played for 25 minutes, scored eight points with six assists, and five rebounds. The Suns were leading 59-55 at the time of Paul’s departure. Paul’s departure will be felt by his team as he was not only the best playmaker but also the leader.

Even though he is considered older by many, his absence will have a significant impact on both Game 2 as well as the entire series.

What happened to Chris Paul

Chris Paul, the star player of the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Conference Semifinals, sustained a groin strain during Game 2 of the NBA Playoffs. He left the game at 4:32 in the third-quarter and never returned. He had scored eight points, given six assists and gotten five rebounds in four of ten attempts before he left. Suns announced later that their primary guard would miss the rest of the game because of groin tension.

Phoenix has suffered a major blow with this injury, having already lost depth after trading Kevin Durant. Cameron Payne, Damion Lee and others had to share Paul’s minutes in the remaining game.

The Suns are hoping that Chris Paul’s injury is not serious as it could cost them dearly. After Paul’s departure, the offense slowed significantly and the team was unable to keep up with Denver Nuggets. Monty Williams of the Suns said that Paul could not push off following the injury. This is concerning. On Tuesday, they will know more about the severity of the injury.
